12:34 am - KeroroRobo MK II
I went out with some friends today just to hang out. Originally, I wasn't intending on buying anything, but my friend bought this GiroroRobo and I decided, "Why not join in?" and bought KeroroRobo MK II. I have a DororoRobo that's in the office currently. I'm going to bring my KeroroRobo there tomorrow to keep it company. But man, this toy is awesome... I can actually transform this thing to two other forms.

KeroroRobo MK II, Sanjou!! )

Fun times...

10:34 pm - Ha ha
I indulged myself in a new Ratchet Voyager Class toy. He's freaking huge compared to the rest, even Voyager Class blackout is nowhere near his size... poor Blackout... outnumbered by the Autobots, 4 to 1... literally...

10:53 pm - Toys! I got toys!
Even though the Transformers movie had some really "eh" designs, it was still not bad overall, though I wonder why both Autobots and Decepticons look evil... but oh well. As for the movie itself, I am torn. It is a damn good action movie, really awesome giant robots fighting in the middle of the city but the plot has a lot of glaring holes in it that my enjoyment is really split in two. David Willis of Shortpacked said it best, "The first half, mostly involving the "boy and his car" theme, isdecidedly Spielbergian. The second half, after things kick into theSector Seven stuff and the nonstop property damage, was totally Bay." and "he Spielberg half had more heart and more focus and more audienceinvolvement, but had not so much on the robot fights. The Bay half wasa robot orgy, but it was soulless, and confusingly anddisproportionately directed." (excerpted from Here. Spoiler alert if you clickety click the linkedy link)

I thought what he said there was exactly how I felt about the movie. So, the movie is awesome, but I can't say I wholeheartedly go all for it.

But seriously, despite that, the toys they made for the movie is absolutely WONDERFUL )

02:20 am - Spider-Man 3
Okay, I've decided to turn my LJ into something like... what's happening with my life (and also, I'm using it to check my friends page) instead of an art blog thingie... so anyways, just saw Spider-Man 3. It was a pretty cool movie, but I felt like the difference in awesomeness between Spider-Man 2 and 3 isn't that far off... not like the difference between Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, that one had a huge difference is awesomeness, but it was still a pretty damn good movie so I liked it. in fact, I loved it.

Oh, also, I just created my own blogspot space for my art blogging... that is, art blogging aside from Yon Gumi Blog which is so updated with new art by the Yon Gumi folks *hint hint*

09:06 pm - Oops, forgot
I actually wanted to post this some time ago. I did this on Christmas day cos I don't celebrate christmas, it has a bit of a history here... let's begin...

Archie comics are making a bit of a redesigning ideas in their comic, the Betty and Veronica line for a couple of Double Digest issues. They're trying out for a more realism look.

Full story: http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=94511

I like the idea they have, redesigning the drawing to give it a more mordern and contemporary look but I really don't like the drawings that they have for it so far... it just doesn't work for me. Stuart Immonen made a thread in drawingboard.org of making our own redesign of the gang, so, here's mine.

December 26th, 2006

08:10 am - 10th year anniversary! Yay!
Now before you sticklers get your pants up in a rut, it's 26th of December here, where I am at, Malaysia and technically, about the same time 10 years ago too.

On 26th December 1996, about 10am or so, I finally uploaded my first ever homepage on geocities. I still remember it all, I already made a homepage at home, but I didn't upload it. Didn't wanna go through the whole managing a website thing until after I finish high school. Of course, I finished high school waaaaaaaaaaaaay before the 26th, but I got lazy, but on the 26th, I went to my temp job for the first time, working for my late father on his new business, as an office boy/graphic designer. As it is a new company and my dad already made most of the graphics, I don't have much to do in the office, so I went online... with all my website stuff in a floppy disk (my website was so small, it was under 500k... or less!) I decided to upload my website online so I went to geocities and registered (I still remember it, they treat it like it's a real estate thing where you book a lot for yourself to build your homepage and mine was in Tokyo/Towers/1106, and you get a whopping 2MB space!!! Back then, this was A LOT). Originally, I was trying to register as Rem, a nickname much closer to my real name but alas, Rem was taken and I don't wanna do the whole "Put a number after your name" thing so I tried to figure out a new nickname. I was a big fan of Slam Dunk at the time (still am, but not as big) so I decided to use the name I used in the arcade when the Hi-Scores required me to put a name. Ace. But I was also a blind otaku, thinking everything Japanese is awesome, at the time so I used the phoenetical of Ace used in Slam Dunk, E-Su, but I thought E-Su would make people think it's E, the alphabet and then Su, so I put an I inbetween and thus, born my nickname, Eisu. Funny enough, some people pronounced it as E-Su, ha ha ha ha ha.

With the registration done, I uploaded my first webpage... in which it's title I have forgotten... it was Eisu's something something... I was also a fan of Aimo at the time and I had fashioned my website to somewhat a similar state of hers. At the time, she had a website called Aimo's little fan art gallery, but I didn't wanan be a 100% copycat, so I changed mine a bit... Eisu's Online Art Gallery or something, I forgot... oh, who cares, 3 months later, I changed it to Eisu's Palace anyway with a whole website overhaul (I just learned how to code tables). Later on, it gets to be Eisuverse, where I host all my online comic, at the time, it was Gomen Nasai and Demon Hunter with several in planning, like Agent 13 and some other comic involving high school fighting (not Wargica).

Then I moved on to a server called Maison-Otaku thanks to the help of the creator of Scott Pilgrim, Bryan Lee O'Malley and life was wonderful. Maison-Otaku was a great server to be on, I can't even remember why... oh yeah, I signed up with Simplenet for the unlimited webspace thing... no wait, I signed up with Simplenet first then Maison-Otaku... huh... now I really can't remember why I quit Maison-Otaku... it's definitely not hostmatix, that was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the line after I quit Maison-Otaku...

In any case, after I bailed from Maison-Otaku, I had a moment where I disappeared off the internet. But I didn't... I was being hosted by a friend of mine who had a server as well. this lasted for a couple of years... then, I got myself hostmatix hosting with the server, eisu.net. Boy, this was a mistake... now, for the... what? 2? 3 years? Hostmatix was great, I got good spaces, good bandwidth and suddenly, December 2004, something happened that hostmatix disappeared or something where I cannot renew my webspace there. Funny enough, Hostmatix is still up, but I just can't seem to contact them to get my place renewed. So, in 2005, Eisu is back in Geocities with Eisu's little side on the web, a neglected website that I update once in a while with only ONE artwork on the main page. Middle of this year, I changed it to correspond to my Deviantart update with Deviantart's new feature thingie.

But that's a different story... earlier this year, I created what is my most successful online comic ever, No Pink Ponies. All my Online comics in the past never got to the level this one does, not even Gomen Nasai, and all the way till now, No Pink Ponies is still going strong and I missed only minimal updates. My other webcomic, Rumble Fall, never really receiving that much popularity is neglected, but not forgotten... I will return to it in 2007 to continue it and hopefully, update it regularly...

2007... I hope this will be a year of good tidings for me... 2006 has been kind but not good...

Thus, the tale of the Online Whelp turning himself into an Online Whore... err, I mean, Online Presence is told. Welp, here's to another 10 years, hopefully, ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Incidentally, I just signed up for Comic Space recently, the webcomic equivalent of MySpace, but I'm really only waiting for the comic hosting thing cos I'm planning to use it for a new weekly comic idea I have... oh, my place is here.

10:33 pm - More Superhero Doodlepoofs
Funny enough, if I combined today's update with yesterday's, this would've been a Doodlebomb, ha ha ha ha.

Enough banter! To the meat! )

08:45 pm - Doodlepoof: Boredom at work
At first, I had nothing to do, so I decided to do fun sketches (the first four sketches) and now, I do have things to do, but it seems I finish em too fast so I did some more fun sketches (the last two)... for the first four, I actually wanted to use those sketches for my sketchbook I was going to do for Comic Fiesta and Cedko, but monetary problems disallows me from making "Sketch and Etch: the actual sketchbook" (I did a mini sketchbook for SDCC called Sketch and Etch, which is probably the only book that I self publish [info]halliday never has) which is a total bummer, cos I really wanted to do Sketch and Etch for Comic Fiesta... oh well, no harm no foul, I can try one next year...

In any case, without further ado, the Poof... I should really start doing doodlebombs again... )

11:56 am - City of Heroes return!!!
Well, kinda... see, Issue 8, the new free expansion is out and I updated my game even though I can't play it so that when I can play it, BAM! No need to update, straight into the game. But [info]kluna66502 was kind enough to let me borrow her CoH account so I can test the new Issue 8, the expansion that includes the veteran rewards where, if you've subscribed (total of months you have subscribed to the game, so the on and off counts together) more than 3 months, you get a reward in terms of powers or costumes or whatever and more rewards the next 3 months up til like, 30th month or something... I forgot... anyways, the one that I wanted in this update the most is the Trenchcoat (not for Futana) and [info]kluna66502 gives me the opportunity to check out how the trenchcoat looks like... and thus, I tested out issue 8 (there are some other game features like the Police Band, but I got too lazy to try out that far cos my computer is slowing down waaaaay too much for me to enjoy the game) and thus, I created a new character for this test:

Oh, did I mention the update also have KILTS!!!

more screenies in here )

Man, I gotta reactivate my account soon... I so need to create Rusty Ninja Cowboy for my account...
